Our Lodges
Situated on our peaceful family farm, our lodges at The Little Pet Boarding are
designed to feel less like boarding and more like a calm countryside retreat for your pet. Set within our quiet rural barn, each spacious lodge offers a
natural secure environment where rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals can relax.
Every Lodge is exceptionally large at over 3 meters long, giving pets the freedom to stretch, explore, binky and interact
naturally- just as they would at home. We believe space is essential to wellbeing which is why our layouts are thoughtfully designed and never cramped.
Within the Lodge, your pet will
enjoy deep, comfortable chopped straw bedding, unlimited access to fresh hay and daily enrichment tailored to their species and personality.
Natural hideaways, tunnels and
enrichment items within the lodge encourage curiosity and comfort while providing plenty of
opportunities for rest and play.
Cleanliness is a top priority- before each new guest, each lodge and all accessories within are thoroughly disinfected with
Virkon S disinfectant to eliminate the
potential spread of disease and ensuring a healthy and stress-free stay.
Thoughtfully Chosen Supplies for Comfort & Wellbeing.
At The Little Pet Boarding, every lodge is prepared using carefully selected, high-quality supplies to ensure your pet feels comfortable, settled, and truly at home throughout their stay.
We provide a variety of fresh, premium hay, including fragrant meadow hay and Timothy hay, offered in unlimited amounts and kept clean, served in baskets away from the floor.
For bedding, we use dust-extracted chopped straw, chosen for its natural nature, cleanliness, absorbency, and softness underfoot. This helps create a dry, cosy environment while supporting respiratory comfort and excellent hygiene standards.
Each lodge includes tunnels and hides as standard, offering opportunities for enrichment, exploration, and rest. These features encourage natural behaviours and provide safe spaces for pets to relax and feel secure.
We warmly welcome owners to bring along favourite toys or comfort items from home, helping familiar scents and routines ease the transition into their holiday stay.
Hydration is equally considered, with both a water dispenser and a bottle provided in every lodge. This ensures each pet can drink in the way they are most comfortable with, promoting confidence and wellbeing.
Every detail is chosen with care, combining natural materials, thoughtful enrichment, and practical design—so your little companions can enjoy a calm, cosy, and well-supported countryside retreat while you’re away.
Exceptional Cleanliness and Disease Control.
At The Little Pet Boarding, cleanliness and disease prevention are treated with the utmost care, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-managed environment for every guest.
Each lodge is fitted with a dedicated litter tray, which is cleaned thoroughly every morning and evening. At these times, full spot checks of the lodge are also carried out, allowing us to promptly remove any soiling, refresh bedding where needed, and ensure each space remains clean, dry, and comfortable throughout the entirety of your pet’s stay.
At the end of every boarding stay, lodges undergo a full deep clean and disinfection. We use Virkon® S, a high-quality, professional-grade disinfectant widely trusted within animal care settings. Virkon® S is highly effective against a broad range of viruses, bacteria, and fungi, while being safe for use in environments
housing rabbits and guinea pigs.
This ensures a thorough level of biosecurity without compromising the wellbeing of our guests.
Vaccination.
To further protect the health of all animals in our care, we require all rabbits to be fully vaccinated, with proof of vaccination provided at the time of booking. This policy plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, responsible boarding environment and gives owners added peace of mind.

Arrival & Collection- What to expect.
At The Little Pet Boarding, both arrival and collection are handled with the same care and consideration as your pet’s stay.
Arrival Day
Arrival day is calm and unhurried. Each guest is gently settled into a freshly prepared lodge with premium bedding, unlimited hay, and fresh forage already in place.
We take time to check all details, observe behaviour, and ensure your pet appears comfortable before
allowing them space to settle naturally. Handling is kept to a minimum during the first hours, giving your pet the opportunity to explore and adjust at their own pace.
If familiar items or routine notes have been provided, these are introduced thoughtfully to help create a sense of continuity and comfort.
Any optional nutrition packages are added gradually and never overwhelm your pet’s usual routine.
